The Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Center (OSM) of Trumbull is accepting applications until May 13 for a $2000 scholarship. The scholarship is open to high school athletes planning to attend college in the fall who play for high schools where OSM serves as team physicians: Trumbull, St. Joseph, Masuk, Shelton, Harding, Central, Notre Dame of Fairfield and Bassick.
OSM is looking for outstanding high school seniors who excel in student athletic achievements, academic accomplishments and community service. Interested students must fill out the application, which is available from their high school guidance counselor or athletic director or by going to www.osmcenter.com.
“Assisting the student athlete to move toward their goal is very rewarding. Our practice is proud to follow these students throughout their high school athletic careers and to serve as their team physicians. This program keeps us connected to the community we serve,” said OSM Orthopedic Surgeon Michael Redler, MD.
Applications must be submitted by May 13 to Lynn Ries, office manager, The Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Center, 888 White Plains Rd., Trumbull 06611. OSM will select winners the week of May 28th.

Each year OSM reviews applications and awards scholarships to local student athletes. Students graduating from Trumbull, St. Joseph, Masuk, Harding, Central, Shelton, Notre Dame and Bassick high schools are eligible. Applicants are judged for their scholastic, community contributions and athletic achievement and participation.
OSM surgeons specialize in all aspects of bone and joint surgery as well as sports medicine and orthopedic surgery. The practice also includes two chiropractors, a podiatrist, a physiatrist, physician assistants, and athletic trainer. OSM has offices in Trumbull, Fairfield, Stratford, and Shelton as well as The OSM Therapy Center in Trumbull. Their website is www.osmcenter.com.
